This core focus workshop will do exactly as it says on the tin.....work your core!!!! This workshop will be a dynamic and challenging asana practice suited to those who already have experience practicing yoga.
The core is the foundation upon which all movement is based. It stabilises and supports your spine and allows the body to move with freedom and ease. Every movement you make is initiated by the core and it is so important to keep the core as strong and stable as possible. A strong core will reduce injuries, strengthen your back, improve posture, increase balance and stability and will even aid in digestion.
Through this workshop we will work at activating and strengthening all sides "the corset" of our core. We will begin with breathing techniques, pelvic floor work and transverse abdominus strengthening exercises helping us to connect to our deep core muscles while at the same time learning how to stay connected to our breath. We will then move into some games and movements with the aim of having lots of fun and a few giggles along the way (hopefully;-)!). Our final stage of the workshop will be a vinyasa flowing asana practice working on building up to some core peak poses and ending our workshop with a long and no doubt well deserved savasana.
